A bit about my image-making style:
I approach my subjects with an awareness of composition that is completely embedded in the way I look at and process what I see. Unlike my camera, my mind’s eye has no off button; it is constantly running along perspective lines, evaluating light strength and angles, searching for balance, and dialing in color tones. This innate artistry is tied to my deep interest in the natural world, and is responsible for the unique, yet natural feel of my work.
A bit more about me:
I received my degree in Fine Art in 2013 from the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I studied photography and printmaking. I live in Oakland, CA with my partner of 12+ years, our two cats and a music-loving turtle. I love watching movies, poking our cats’ bellies when I walk past them in the hall, playing in the kitchen and cooking without recipes, reading fiction, decorating letters with cute animal stickers like I’m 5 years old, and collecting art & homewares made by local creators.
